Redmi S2 Apparently Teased, Allegedly Spotted on Mi Store


Redmi S2 has been supposedly on the next big Xiaomi launch, today that the Mi 6X continues to be officially released and Mi 7 unveiling is anticipated to maintain Q3. The Redmi S2 was leaked heavily recently, along with the latest comes in the shape of a teaser that pretty much cements the introduction of the smartphone. The Redmi S2 teaser image has been spotted on Weibo, and it consists of a large ‘S’ drawn with red and blue paint. This could indicate that the smartphone will probably arrive in Red and Blue colour variations. The ‘S’ may also mean the arrival of a new model from the company’s very own SoC lineup – the Surge S2. The launching of a new smartphone seems to be more probable, given the number of current leaks. Furthermore, the smartphone has again been spotted in Czech Republic, and this time a photo was shared by among GSMArena’s readers. The photo consists of a fairly fuzzy Redmi S2 along with the specifications mentioned below it.

From the photograph, only the front of the Redmi S2 could be seen, and it feels like the bezels are kept at minimum. The 3.5mm audio jack is seen sitting on the top edge of this smartphone. The specifications noted in the picture state the Redmi S2 will operate on MIUI 9 predicated on Android Oreo, and game a 5.99-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixel) screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC and sport dual cameras at the rear – one detector at 12-megapixel and another at 5-megapixel. The front camera will be at 16-megapixel resolution, along with the battery power is at 3080mAh.

From prior rumours we know that the Redmi S2 includes a vertical dual back camera setup, an 18:9 screen, and also a rear-mounted fingerprint detector. Storage will be flashed through microSD cards and the phone will reportedly sport a Micro-USB port.
