Despite touting cross-platform play for Matches like Fortniteand Rocket League, Microsoft is removing its game, Minecraft from one platform — Program le TV.
If you purchased Minecraft on Apple TV, you’ll be able to play with it, but you won’t receive any new features or crossplay support. This was noticed by people having the game on Apple TV. They were greeted with a message confirming the conclusion of service. Minecraft for Apple TV was declared in 2016 in Apple’s MacBook occasion .
“Effective from Monday, 24 September, the Apple TV version of Minecraft will no more be updated or supported,” the message reads. Though it has stated that it would offer refunds for purchases made in the last 3 months.
“We’re thankful to the Apple TV community to get their service, but we have to reallocate resources to the platforms our players use the maximum. Don’t worry though, you can continue to play with Minecraft on Apple TV, maintain constructing in y our world, along with your Marketplace buys — including Minecoins — will continue to become available. However, we know that this experience isn’t in-line with the expertise on other programs, so we will be issuing full refunds on all purchases made within the last 90 days.”
Microsoft’s statement indicates that a vast majority of its player base isn’t on Apple TV and contains therefore pulled the plug. It drives home the underlying fact that despite its own position on features like cross-platform play to reinforce its user base on platforms such as the Xbox One, it won’t shy away from falling assistance from programs which it deems unfit.
Previously, Minecraft programmer Mojang announced a new”action-adventure game inspired by classic dungeon crawlers” for PC: it is called Minecraft: Dungeons, that will be playable solo or with friends cooperativelyup to four players in total. The game may also have a narrative. Minecraft: Dungeons was announced in the yearly Minecon Earth 2018 convention on the weekend, alongside an upgrade for Minecraft coming next year and additional add-ons.
