Hackers have stolen knowledge on more than 600,000 Domino’s Pizza Inc buyers in Belgium and France, the pizza supply company said, and a nameless Twitter user threatened to submit the data unless the company can pay a money ransom.
Consumer names, delivery addresses, telephone numbers, electronic mail addresses and passwords had been taken from a server used in an online ordering machine that the corporate is in the technique of changing, Domino’s spokesman Chris Brandon stated on Monday.
He stated he did not recognize if the stolen passwords had been encrypted.
A Tweet directed at Domino’s consumers through an account of any individual listed as “Rex Mundi” stated hackers would submit the buyer knowledge on the web until the corporate will pay 30,000 euros ($40,800), in line with an editorial in the Telegraph.
The Rex Mundi account was later suspended.
Brandon said he was once now not familiar with the ransom calls for, but that the corporate would not be making one of these fees.
Domino’s vice president of Communications Tim mcintyre said the hacking used to be “isolated” to unbiased franchise markets of Belgium and France, where the corporate’s online ordering gadget didn’t collect credit card orders, so no financial knowledge had been taken.
“This doesn’t have an effect on any market outdoor of France and Belgium,” he said by way of e-mail. “The website has been secured.”
Domino’s has some 11,000 retailers international, including 229 in France, 24 in Belgium and about 5,000 in the us.
