Prime officers of Dell on Thursday called on Telecom and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and expressed keen interest in increasing their Chennai plant.

Chatting with journalists after his meeting with Dell staff led via firm’s Asia Pacific and Japan area President Amit Midha, Prasad said, “Dell is very inquisitive about digital manufacturing. They have got a facility here which they want to extend.

“They have got expressed wish to have complete ecosystem of parts suppliers as neatly. I have asked them to share their ideas and we will see what best we are able to do.”

Dell invested $30 million (roughly Rs. 185 crores) in manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
