Japanese electronics giant Sony continues to actively Carry on the Mobile speaker Area, and has launched a range of Fresh products in the SRS-series and outdoor-focused PG range.
The ongoing CES 2019 tech convention sees Sony launching the SRS-XB12, SRS-XB22, and SRS-XB32 mobile wireless speakers. The company has also launched the rather unique Sony GTK-PG10 outdoor celebration speaker, which includes cup holders onto a top panel that pops up as a desk, presumably to maintain your drinks and other items on.
The SRS-XB range of speakers sees three new developments, which can be priced at different levels depending on the version number. While India prices or availability haven’t been shown yet, US pricing of the speakers is out.
The Sony speakers comprise wireless connectivity over Bluetooth to match with most major smartphones and origin apparatus, together with mild effects on the XB-22 and XB-32 speakers. All 3 speakers also feature IP67 evaluations for water and dust resistance, with claimed battery life going up to 24 hours on the top-end variant. Charging is via USB interfaces on the speakers, even whilst NFC helps quicker pairing over the XB-22 and XB-32 versions.
Also launched is the Sony GTK-PG10 celebration speaker, which has been touted as a speaker for party use whether outside or inside. It features a fold-out table which comes with integrated cup holders and a stage to store things. Furthermore, opening up the top panels permit the tweeters to fire upwards, thereby allowing sound to spread better. Interestingly, the Sony GTK-PG10 speaker can also be mounted on a tripod for elevation.
